Qualities of a Citywatch Frontline Officer
Our clients trust us to help keep their people and premises safe, secure and maintain order. You will therefore be trustworthy in your role working unsupervised on the customer's premises; working with valuables and handling confidential information. At Citywatch, we never compromise in our demand for integrity. Integrity includes openly expressing your opinion, reporting improprieties and not withholding information.
We also expect high level commitment in your employment with Citywatch. Punctuality is highly valued, so also is our expectation that you advise the control room in good time of your unavailability to report for duties.
Vigilance:
At Citywatch Security, it is effective security, no excuses. Our roles require attentive looking, listening and evaluating. Our officers will often notice things that others don't. This is necessary in order to be aware of potential risks or incidents that may take place on our client’s premises.
Leadership Ability:
As a Citywatch , you are expected to be able to lead, and to follow. Many times, you are expected to work as a team, which means you have to know when to take charge. Where the safety of the client is at risk, you must know how and when to impose the necessary practices for the common good. You must also know how to abide by the rules set up by our clients to ensure safety or that legal requirements are met.
You must have the ability to think on your feet, and able to come up with good solution within a short time, especially during emergency situations.
You must be able to communicate well, not just with the client but with other people the client works with.

A typical Citywatch officer consistently demonstrates an enhanced level of customer service with all he comes in contact with, offering intentional, personal, and differentiated experience. You will be personable, knowledgeable about your site, respectful, authoritative, and above professional. You will be friendly, greeting each interaction with a smile and eye contact. And you will remain focused and attune to maintaining safety and security on site.
When required, a Citywatch officer will lend assistance, even if it is not directly related to his or her role on site. You will always help if an incident occurs that requires intervention, even if it means staying on site well beyond your finish time.

Vetting
Vetting procedures are compulsory to ensure we employ the right personnel in the company.
All vetting and screening meets the requirements, details and procedures that have to be met for personnel working in a security environment.
Part of the vetting and screening procedures is the checking of character and employer references.We will seek references from the DSS, a solicitor or an accountant where you have been self-employed.
We employ no individual until all vetting and screening procedures are complete. You will be required to complete or provide the following:
